Is PrepGenie affiliated with the LNAT Consortium?
No. PrepGenie is an independent test preparation provider. The official LNAT is administered by Pearson VUE on behalf of LNAT Consortium Ltd. We are a separate company that has been preparing LNAT applicants since 2011.
How is this different from PDF practice papers?
PDFs let you read the questions; the simulator lets you sit the exam. You get the timer pressure, the navigation behaviour, the flag-for-review function, and the auto-submit, all the things PDFs cannot replicate. After each attempt you get analytics on where you lost time and accuracy, which is the part that actually improves scores.
How long is the LNAT and how is it structured?
About two hours and fifteen minutes in total. Section A is 42 multiple-choice questions across 12 passages in 95 minutes, scored out of 42. Section B is one essay chosen from three prompts in 40 minutes, which is not scored numerically but is sent to your universities to read.
Do I need to prepare for the essay too?
Yes. Even though Section B does not produce a number, the universities you apply to read your essay as evidence of how you argue in writing. It is worth practising planning and writing a clear, structured argument in 40 minutes.
How many times can I take the LNAT?
Once per admissions cycle. Only your first sitting counts, and results cannot be carried forward to a later year, so it is worth being well prepared before you book.
When should I sit the LNAT?
As early as you sensibly can. Oxford and Cambridge applicants must sit it much earlier than most, by mid-October. See our dates and deadlines page for the current cycle, and always confirm your universities' own deadlines.
What happens after 6 months?
Your paper access ends, and the practice papers are no longer available on your dashboard. Your account still works and the free test remains available. If you want to keep practising, for example if you are taking the LNAT in a later cycle, you can renew any bundle. Renewing after expiry starts you fresh: your previous attempts and scores are cleared.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The simulator runs in any modern browser on desktop, laptop, or tablet. We recommend a desktop or laptop for the most realistic experience.
Can I get a refund?
Because the papers are digital and access is granted immediately on purchase, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds. This does not affect your statutory rights. If anything is not working as it should, contact us and we will put it right.
