For 2027 entry, lnat.ac.uk also lists IE University (Spain), O.P. Jindal Global University (India) and the Singapore University of Social Sciences, which tests from 1 September 2026 to 15 March 2027 for its July 2027 intake. Check each one’s own admissions page for grades and dates.

What the LNAT costs

£75 at UK and EU test centres and £120 elsewhere; a bursary covers the fee for UK and EU students on certain state benefits. Candidates who sit by late January get their own score in mid-February. See LNAT dates and deadlines and LNAT scores explained.

University requirements: FAQ

Which LNAT universities have the earliest deadline?
Oxford and Cambridge: register and book by 15 September 2026 and sit the LNAT by 15 October 2026, the same day as their UCAS deadline. UCL, LSE and King’s require the test by 31 December 2026.
Which universities read the LNAT essay?
Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Durham and Bristol all say they use or mark the essay. LSE says the essay is not considered for most applicants. King’s and Glasgow do not publish how they weigh the two sections.
What LNAT score do I need for Oxford?
Oxford publishes averages rather than a cut-off. In the 2025-26 round, offer holders averaged 30.48 out of 42 on the multiple-choice section, against 24.94 for all applicants.
Do I need the LNAT for SOAS?
The official LNAT site lists SOAS, but SOAS’s own course page says A-level and IB applicants do not have to sit it, while Access, BTEC and foundation-year applicants do. Confirm with SOAS directly before you decide.
Do Oxford and Cambridge colleges have different LNAT requirements?
No. The LNAT requirement and deadline are the same for every college. Some Cambridge colleges add their own offer conditions, and Pembroke asks for written work, so check your college’s page too.
